Solid Basic SUV - old but even survived Hurricane

by FordEscape on 4/5/2026 4:08:08 AM

        My (beloved) Clunker.../09 Escape Hybrid

by Brent on 4/1/2026 1:13:59 AM

No real complaints about the 17 yr. old Escape Hybrid. Not a luxury vehicle but hasn't let me down yet aka it's been a very reliable vehicle. Try to maintain it as best that I can (although now that it is quite old, I'm not as diligent in taking care of it). Also the AC quit working...stone apparently struck the condenser. As old as it is, I can't justify the cost of fixing these issues (& my mechanic agrees). That said, since we have long winters c/w having to deal with lotsa salt on the roads in winter, I have tried to keep the vehicle rust protected (get it oil sprayed every other year) and I also (hand apply) wax (almost) every year. The result is it looks great. The only thing I seem to do is change the oil/reg. service as required & it just keeps going.…
